#WinaHouseInDublin campaign passes €1 million

With 10 days still to go the #WinAHouseinDublin fundraising campaign organised by Roscommon GAA & Club Rossie passed the €1 million mark today.

This ensures that a minimum of €600,000 , after all costs have been paid (house purchase and marketing investment), will be contributed to the implementation of the Roscommon GAA strategic plan.
The prize of a new house worth €425,000 in Ashtown, Dublin 15, built by our long standing supporter Sean Mulryan and Ballymore, is proving very popular.

The Draw will be broadcast live on Facebook on Sunday evening, 30 December with tickets on sale until then. Some lucky winner will have a great start to 2019. Additional prizes include €5,000 in cash and a Mediterranean Cruise (see below).

Currently, we are running a 5 for 5 campaign with 5 lucky people winning 5 extra tickets into the Draw – any ticket purchased by 11.59pm on Christmas Eve since we launched on 10 September will be eligible.

Speaking on behalf of Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie, David O Connor, County Treasurer said, “This campaign has been very successful to date and will make a massive difference to Roscommon GAA. It’s not over yet though and people can buy a ticket online at www.winahouseinDublin.com. This is a really perfect Christmas present.”

O’Connor continued, “With a small population and a lack of significant industry we need to be innovative in our fundraising. Club Rossie was launched in 2014 and has delivered year in year out but this campaign has changed the game”.

Finally we are delighted to announce that due to the success of the campaign Roscommon GAA & Club Rossie are donating €10,000 to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice Martina Jennings said “We are so grateful to Club Rossie for choosing a local charity to benefit from their kind donation. The money will be ring-fenced into the Roscommon Hospice building fund, which will be completed by January 2021.”

Speaking on behalf of Club Rossie Aidan Brady commented, “We have been overwhelmed by the support for our Win a House in Dublin campaign. The Mayo Roscommon Hospice is a vital resource in the west of Ireland and we’re delighted to be in a position to donate €10,000 to this very worthy cause.”

Seamus Sweeney, Chairman of Roscommon GAA, “The Win a House in Dublin campaign from the Club Rossie team is game changer for Roscommon GAA. We are delighted to now be in a position to help the Hospice as a result of this campaign and look forward to building on our longstanding relationship with the Hospice over the coming years.”

Mayo Roscommon Hospice are the official charity partner of Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie for 2019 and 2020.
